PSA

Earlier this month, I heard from several folks that Blueprint, one of the wedding registry and websites I recommend, wasn’t working for them and that there had been very little to no communication from the company about what was happening.

Then, this weekend, I received an email that said Blueprint will be discontinuing its services on Wednesday (7/2).

Here’s what the email said about next steps: “We’ve officially transitioned our registry experience to MyRegistry—and while Blueprint will be discontinued on July 2, 2025, you can still access and withdraw any cash funds you received through your Blueprint registry here.”

This sounds like such a headache, and I’m really sorry if you’re dealing with it. I’ve removed Blueprint from my referral list and hope the transition is a smooth one.

Cool wedding planning resources I made

Rehearsals are one of the only things I insist on in weddings.

This is my guide on how to run one.

I did three final venue tours this month (looking at you, fall 2025 weddings!).

Don’t know what a final venue tour is? It’s my less ableist term for a “final walkthrough” and it’s one of the most important meetings I do as a wedding planner. This is what I ask.

If you’re a guest at a wedding this summer, here’s an oldie but a goodie.

I’d also add: Not filling in seats at the wedding. Seriously! Please move up if you see empty rows.

I’m moving into my high season.

Which means lower availability for one-hour rent-my-brain calls. If you’re interested in that service, here are the details.

This is a purse! More specifically, it’s what the flower women carried down the aisle at a wedding I did this month.

Get 15 percent off from this Portland jeweler.

Use code PRIDE2025 now through Sunday 8/31/25 for anything on the website to celebrate the jeweler, in her own words, “being fully out and loving life.”

I very much enjoyed this worksheet about napkin folds.

The venue sent it to me after I gushed about it at a final tour.

I’m officiating a wedding next month so finally got around to watching this incredible resource.

Thanks to professional officiant Emily Sterling of Rooted & Wild for sharing her knowledge in an easy-to-access way.

A photographer I admire wrote something new about small weddings in Portland.

Including a recommended day-of photo timeline.

I’ve talked before about this YouTube channel that focuses on sustainability in weddings.

Now here are the details on the vendor organization behind it. “Resources” and the “Directory” are both worth a gander, particularly if you’re hosting an event in western Canada.

If you’re in need of last-minute hair and makeup, consider this vendor.

Her name is Gioia Gomez and while she’s also my stylist, I recommend her here because she cut her teeth doing weddings at a resort, which means she did more weddings in a month than I do in a year.

Psst — Per my code of conduct, I don’t take kickbacks or other things of value for my referrals.

Wedding vendors, this is for you

Wedding vendor meet-ups are happening including one I’m hosting in Portland at the end of July. Come hang out!

Let’s (always) end with pie.
