A couple kisses in the rain on their wedding day.

Proof that you can have fun even if it rains on your wedding day (and boy, did it rain at this May wedding).

**Correction**

I made a mistake: I thought the Portland Bridal & Wedding Expo that’s happening on Sunday 6/1/25 was the same thing as the Portland Bridal Show that imploded in January. They are different shows!

Thanks so much to Portland photographer Cambrae Chipman for bringing this to my attention in a kind and generous way.

Cool wedding planning resources I made

About a year ago, I shared what my wedding cost.

Because it’s very hard to shop in my industry.

There are two things we can’t control on a wedding day.

Covid and the weather. I’ve got resources for both.

In case you missed it, I wrote something new.

It’s about the average cost of a wedding guest in Oregon.

My one-hour consulting was busy this month.

I did seven “rent my brain” calls with people planning this year and next. What did we talk about? Venue referrals including real pricing, ways to save money, inclusive vendors, rough draft day-of timings — you know, wedding planning stuff.

“minimum effort maximum slay”

Is a thing someone wrote about their wedding planning in the “Anything else I should know?” section of my intake form and you know what? Yes.

Cool wedding planning resources other people made

There’s an interesting new venue in Tacoma, Washington.

It’s the kind of super small, highly affordable, all-inclusive option people always tell me they want.

You know that beautiful custom veil vendor I mentioned a few months ago?

They’ve got a new collection with new pieces dropping daily through Sunday (6/1).

Open to taking this survey?

The Sustainable Wedding Alliance has a new three-minute, anonymous survey they need folks planning to take.

I didn’t know fruit could look this cool.

And wouldn’t it be neat at a wedding?

Upcoming wedding events

Turns out the Savvy Weddings Summit changed dates! It’s now Saturday 6/21/25 and Sunday 6/22/25. Apologies that I didn’t catch this in my last newsletter!

If you’re looking for a low-key, pop-up wedding event, Springdale, Oregon, venue The Hummingbird Hall is doing Solistice Vows on Friday 6/20/25 while Portland events venue Rae Loft is hosting Elopement Night on Monday 6/23/25.

Wedding vendors, this is for you

Wedding vendor meet-ups are happening including in a new city (Philadelphia!). These meet-ups exist because I’ve found it very hard to find free ways to meet nice coworkers.

We did it!
